Space 220 Restaurant at Epcot

Updated August 31, 2022

Space 220 debuted at Epcot in October of 2021 and it’s been super well received since opening its doors.

I encourage you to book this dining option if you can get a reservation for it. It’s phenomenal!

There’s lots to know about the experience.

Let’s take a look at what’s included.

Basic Scoop

Space 220 is located inside Epcot at Walt Disney World. It’s a Patina Group restaurant, which typically means it’s going to be a good experience. Patina oversees The Edison, Morimoto Sushi, Via Napoli and lots more of my favorites.

This meal will last about 90 minutes, so work that into your schedule.

It’s a unique experience and one that surprised me. Disney shares about it here:

“Embark on the ultimate culinary exploration from this new expansion of the Mission: SPACE pavilion.

Step inside Space 220—featuring a celestial panorama from a space station—for a delicious meal. To begin your journey, board a special space elevator that will ascend to the stars! Along the way, viewports will give you an aerial view of Epcot as you travel high above the planet. As you dine, peer out and enjoy amazing daytime and nighttime views of Earth from 220 miles up.”

And…..

“Dine on a menu featuring modern American cuisine, cocktails and a wide selection of craft beer. Enjoy crisp, fresh veggies served in our Space Greens or Blue Moon Cauliflower. Sink your teeth into delicious entrees like the Centauri Burger or the 8-oz. Filet Mignon. Plus, enjoy a sweet send-off when you order the Lemon Mousse or Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake for dessert.

Specialty beverages––like the Celestial Cosmopolitan or the Planetary Punch––are also available!”

Essentially, you enter the building to check in and then board an “space elevator” to the restaurant. It’s all virtual, so don’t panic. No space suit is needed.

Tips for Your Best Experience

  • Before you make your reservation, check to see what time sunset will be when you visit. It’s ideal to dine about 45 minutes prior to sunset, as the view from space looking at earth changes in real time with what’s happening in real life. So, if you start your meal with the sun still out, you’ll get to watch the earth change from light to dark. I love this!
  • Ask your server about the themed cocktails they offer. And mocktails, too. There are several fun options for both.
  • This restaurant includes LOTS of opportunity for photos and video. If you care to document anything or everything, have your camera ready as soon as you enter.
  • Try to find the lightsaber battle that pops up in space occasionally. It doesn’t last long. Be quick! Look for these guys:

Notes
