The Three Towers

The three include….

  • Fantasy Tower – This is the main tower and includes the main lobby. If you like a fun vibe and lots around you, choose this tower. Goofy’s Kitchen is next door for character dining. The Coffee Shop is also nearby for caffeine and other treats. The only shopping you’ll find at the hotel is in this tower, too. Your view will either be a parking lot or the pool.
  • Adventure Tower – This is the one between Fantasy and Frontier. It has the smallest lobby, but boasts the best views of Downtown Disney or the pool. Club Level guests can visit the High Key Club and enjoy good food and drinks along with fireworks viewing (with music!).
  • Frontier Tower – This is my favorite, as it’s the quietest. It also includes a really cool, enormous model of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. This tower is the only one with balconies, too. They’re rare, but available!

Also onsite, you’ll find the new and uber fabulous DVC Tower and Palm Breeze Bar.

High Key Club

The High Key Club is open to guests who are staying with “concierge level” or “club level” privileges.

This is offered as an addition to your hotel room or suite. Per Disney:

“Club-Level Guests can enjoy access to High Key Club, the newly reimagined concierge lounge celebrating the music and sounds of Disneyland Park, circa 1955 and beyond.

Relax and enjoy light bites in the expanded space and, on select nights, watch the Disneyland Park fireworks—while listening to a live synchronized broadcast of the soundtrack—from the comfort of the lounge.”

What you shouldn’t miss

  • When you stay at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, you’re eligible for Early Entry. To be the first one at the Disneyland gate, line up for security at the Disneyland Hotel security checkpoint near Downtown Disney 6:15am. This security line opens at 6:45am most days (compared to 7am for guests not staying at a DLR Hotel). Get through security at 6:45am and then walk through Downtown Disney to the Disneyland gate. You should be there around 7am. The park will allow you in around 7:30am. Use my strategies to get the most out your day with or without Lightning Lanes. Find those strategies here.
  • For late night drinks and bad decisions, visit Trader Sam’s Bar. Located in the center of this resort, it’s fun night or day, actually. Try the Panko Crusted Green Beans and enjoy the show as bartenders delight you with both skill and entertainment.
  • The pools are amazing (best of all 3 Disneyland Resort hotels) and the slide is so fun!
  • Wander through Fantasy Tower and the connecting Conference Hall to see all the historical photos from over the years.
  • Fireworks from the High Key Club (club level in Adventure Tower) are the best! The service is, too. Such great cast members make club level at this hotel really something special.
  • The Big Thunder Mountain Railroad model can be found in the Frontier Tower and is so cool to see! Check it out here.

Additional Resources & Notes

I don’t recommend taking the Monorail to the parks from the Disneyland Hotel at park opening if you’re trying to rope drop. It’s unpredictable. Go to the main gate instead.

  1. Casey! Absolutely love your content and constant updates! We will be visiting DLH this Fall which in my opinion is best time of all lol. In regards to the fireworks view you speak of at the High Key Club, thats only available for club level paying guests? And if so, anywhere on property where you can catch the fireworks show?

      1. You are awesome! Thank you for the quick reply! Can we request a specific tower prior to check in? Based on your break down of each, Frontier Tower sounds more our speed! We have booked 5 guests, standard room standard view. Thanks again! Keep up the great work! I refer everyone to your website.. The DL Bible lol.

        1. Call the hotel ahead of time to see if you can request it. If not, request your tower of choice at check in. I always have the best luck when I go by and talk to someone in person. Frontier is my favorite! Have so much fun! I love this magical hotel.

      2. Hi Casey,
Do you recommend the original towers over the DVC tower? Is one a further walk than the others?
My other question is regarding the Pixar hotel, do you know if you can still cut through the CGH or is it now a longer walk? Is there anything else you can tell me about the walk from Pixar? we are trying to decide between the two hotels. We’ve stayed at Grand Californian the last few times and are looking to try something new.

        1. Hi Stephie!

I haven’t stayed at the DVC Tower, but it’s gorgeous! Just a tiny bit longer walk. You won’t notice it.

You may cut through the GCH with your valid room key from the Pixar Place Hotel. It’s the easiest way to get there.

You also have a quick entrance to California Adventure Park from Pixar Place Hotel. There’s a gate to the right just before the gate to the GCH that will take you directly to Pixar Pier (the land). You come out near Seaside Souvenirs and Corn Dog Castle. This gate is accessible with any active Disneyland Resort room key.

Let me know what other questions you have!
