***Looking for Disneyland Resort hotel secrets? Check this out!
We had so much fun in the first post, I had to start a second!
Check out this original long list of other fun things like this to do and see at the Disneyland Resort.

Basic Scoop
Disneyland has many hidden treasures that most guests miss during the first few trips.
This post will share even more magical stops I’ve found along the way after this one was so popular.
If you’re planning a Disneyland trip, start with this post. It covers everything you need to know. And here’s my 2026 crowd calendar that shows you the days to avoid. Finally, check out discounts for tickets and hotels both on and off site with my preferred travel partner here.
Ok, let’s get started!

Secret Room inside Red Rose Taverne
This room is often overlooked for a variety of reasons. Many guests just don’t make it this far back in the restaurant. There’s a pocket door that opens it and if it’s closed, this room appears off limits to guests.
Open that door!
It’s a charming room filled with even more charming details. And because it’s mostly unknown, it’s often empty.
When it’s time to go, you may exit the door you used to enter. Or, you can leave through the amber colored glass windowed door to find yourself at the exit of Pinocchio’s Daring Adventure.
The restaurant opens at 9am. This is a perfect spot for breakfast as it will likely be empty if you go.
Check out this post for all the best breakfast spots at Disneyland, DCA, the hotels, and Downtown Disney.
This one shares specifically about Disneyland and links to several tasty dishes from Red Rose Taverne including the Maple French Toast Sandwich, French Toast and Eggs, a Mickey shaped pancake with side for under $10 and more. I love this restaurant. It feels so “old school Disneyland” to me.
Here’s what it looks like from the outside:

And the inside:

Red & White Light Bulb
At the Coca Cola Refreshment Center on Main Street, look up closely at the red and white bulbs that adorn the entrance. As they were being installed, the red and white came to an end and a choice had to be made….red or white?!
In trademark Disney fashion, no choice was made and instead, a single bulb was painted red and white so that the pattern was never broken. It’s little things like this that make Disneyland unique!
Here’s a video.
And did you know there’s a second light bulb like this at the back of this patio? See it here in these photos:

This may seem trivial to most people, but for Disney fans, this light bulb tells a story. And we love everything about that.
Side Room at the Market House
This charming room has been a favorite for decades. They used to have checkers out to play, but I haven’t seen that for a long time.
This was also where you could find the guest driven Message Box that was popular around 2015, I think. I share about the Message Box here. What a lovely thing it was!
Seek out this little room for a break from the crowds. It’s part of the Market House on Main Street, which is the Starbucks of Disneyland. So, most guests are in and out grabbing coffee and overlook this little gem of a room.
Pick up the phone! It’s a party line phone. Listen to the chatter on the other end. My kids used to love this.

Here’s a photo from when we hung out here playing checkers with my sister in 2013:

Braille Messages in Toontown
As you enter Toontown in Disneyland Park, veer left after you go under the railroad tracks to find the first play area with a large tree, The Dreaming Tree, and roots coming out of the ground. “The Dreaming Tree” is a tribute to the original cottonwood tree on Walt Disney’s childhood farm in Marceline, Missouri, where Walt would sit under. He credited it as the birthplace of his imagination.
Look (and feel!) closely at the roots, as they include the words “play” and “dream” written in braille.
This area is a small part of Disney’s continued efforts to make all guests feel welcome and included – and I love everything about that.

Second Best Nap Spot at Disneyland
Go alllll the way back into Toontown for this one.
It’s a great spot that feels like a cave and is protected from the sun.
Restrooms can be found in Toontown, about half way from the entrance to this area, near Good Boy Grocers. Grab a healthy snack there and then relax in this quiet spot.
Here’s a map:

And here is what this space looks like:

Disneyland Fire Station
While not technically a secret, the fire station is often overlooked during a visit.
Go in and check out the details. I share lots of photos here.

Hulk Tree
Powered by gamma radiation, this one tree in Avengers Campus has far surpassed the others in growth. Check it out here.
And here’s a photo:

The Secret Patio
Often overlooked, this patio in Frontierland is an absolute gem.
Find it across from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and to the right of the Ship to Shore Marketplace, where you find the popular breakfast chimichangas.
Here it is on the map:

And here are some photos of the patio and views:
