The Viv Hotel Review

Updated September 8, 2025

This resort is so lovely.

I’ve stayed here twice. I was the first ever media guest back in 2020 and I stayed recently, too – August 2024. And again in February of 2025!

Let’s take a look at what it’s all about.

Who to Book Your Trip With

I recommend booking with Get Away Today.

Park reservations, crowd calendars, dining reservations, MagicBand+, changes since Covid, etc etc all require a decent amount of familiarity to get it right.

I can help you with many parts of planning, but I recommend booking your trip with an experienced agent who can handle some of these things for you and advise on all of them.

Basic Scoop

This hotel debuted in November of 2020. I stayed shortly after opening and had a fantastic experience. This was the first Radisson Blu on the west coast.

Radisson Blu eventually became The Viv and the rest is history.

This hotel is 1.2 miles from the Disneyland main entrance on Harbor Blvd.

How to Get to Disneyland

I recommend taking the ART Shuttle. You may buy an all day pass that allows you to hop on and off as you wish for $6 for adults and $2.50 for kids (age 3-9).

And the great news? The shuttle picks you up right in front of the hotel! You can wait for it inside, in the air conditioning. The shuttle will pull up under the shaded cover for you to enter the vehicle.

No need to walk far or wait at a stop out in the sun with guests from multiple properties.

More about ART here.

If you want to Uber/Lyft, note your destination point as “Disneyland 15min Parking/Guest Drop Off” in the app.

That will take you to the closest point of the park. If you’re going for rope drop, Uber to the Disneyland Hotel, as their security is quicker early in the morning.

I’ve stayed here and driven with no issues. Enter and leave the garage with your hotel key. We parked at Mickey and Friends parking structure and returned easily. The walk from the garage to the main lobby is quick.

Self-Parking at The Viv costs $38/night. Valet is $47.

Why I Like Staying Here

This hotel feels more upscale than what you’ll pay per night. And it often has a 4th night free option!

We love the spacious rooms, comfy beds, rooftop pool, well appointed bathrooms (my daughter loves the mirrors) and fabulous lounge with park views, and so much more.

The food is excellent on site. Don’t miss the bar and lounge upstairs.

We drove to the parks on one of our trips, too, and the ease with the parking garage was nice. It’s a quick walk from your car to your room with automatic doors. So helpful with luggage.

Exterior Photos

Interior Photos

Chandeliers hang beautifully in the main lobby, giving this property a sophisticated, upscale feel.

But, it has some whimsical features, too, which tie it into the Disneyland culture beautifully.

The artwork on site is so interesting and Disneyland-focused.

If you get a chance, check out this “View Finder” in the lobby. There are two hidden Disney characters to locate…..Tinker Bell and Peter Pan. We found them both!

Don’t miss a photo with these guys:

Hotel Room

Rooms are bright and cheerful with plenty of space.

This room sleeps 6!

I sat in this chair forever, enjoying the views of the Disneyland Resort.

You can see so much….the Matterhorn, Space Mountain, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!

Bathroom

The bathroom is spacious and well appointed.

Two Pools

There are two pools at The Viv.

One is located on the main floor. It’s large with a huge spa, fountain play area, and ample chairs for relaxing water-side.

Both pools are open from 9:00am – 10:00pm.

Here’s the main floor pool:

Love these chairs.

The second pool is on the roof and is adults only!

Here’s the rooftop pool:

Top of the V Rooftop Lounge

Top of the V is located on the roof and it boasts the title of “highest rooftop lounge in Anaheim”. The views are amazing.

Even better? The food and drinks! And, I was super impressed with the service.

Be sure to make a reservation before arriving. You may do so at this link.

Here are some photos of the outdoor area:

Check out what we dined on while we were there:

Here’s a peek at the indoor area:

Dining on the Main Floor

Downstairs, you’ll find Valencia’s.

For quick bites, find Melody Market in the lobby.

  1. I recently read your review of the Radisson Blu Anaheim on Disneyland Daily, and I wanted to reach out to thank you for sharing your firsthand experience and insights.

Your detailed account of your stay provided a valuable perspective for anyone considering accommodations near Disneyland. It’s clear that the Radisson Blu left a positive impression on you, from the modern design and amenities to the convenient location for Disneyland visitors.

If you have had the chance to explore more of the Anaheim area or if there are other Disney-related adventures you’d like to share, I’d love to hear about them. Your experiences and recommendations contribute to the collective knowledge of fellow Disney enthusiasts.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on the Radisson Blu Anaheim, and I’m looking forward to more of your Disneyland explorations on Disneyland Daily.

  2. Hi there! I planned a last minute spontaneous trip for the beginning of October, and I’m wondering… can you see the fireworks in any capacity from the rooftop bar? ?

  3. Hi Casey! We are staying here in July per your suggestion and the amazing six person room! I have a few questions: 1: Is the ART reliable to get us to the park an hour before opening? 2. Is it better to drive and park at the park? We are WDW pros so this is all so new to us! I’m really benefitting from all your blog posts! Thank you so much!

    1. Hi, Carole.

I hope you love it! Such a great resort.

I would not count on ART to be there by 7:00am. Is ubering an option? That’s the most effective way to get there early since you don’t have to fuss with parking.

If you can uber, do so to the “15 Minute Drop Off Lot” on Harbor Blvd.

If you can’t uber and want to drive, arrive at the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure around 6:30am. That should get you in quickly, through security, on the tram and headed to the gate earlier than anywhere else.

      Have the best time!

Oh, and check out this post for lots of basic planning that includes a section for WDW vets:
