Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter are beautifully themed and really have to be seen.
They transport you to Louisiana in such a special way. And I went to college in Baton Rouge! They really do get it all right.
Who to Book Your Trip With
Park reservations, crowd calendars, dining reservations, MagicBand+, changes since Covid, Disney Genie, etc etc all require a decent amount of familiarity to get it right.
I can help you with many parts of planning, but I recommend booking your trip with an experienced agent who can handle some of these things for you and advise on all of them. Commission is built into every Disney package purchased, regardless of who you book with. So, you do not pay a penny more than if you book with Disney directly.
I recommend booking with Get Away Today for the best prices and service in the industry. Find them here.
Basic Scoop
Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter are both Moderate Resorts.
Disney properties include 3 tiers:
- Deluxe
- Moderate
- Value
Moderates are great properties because they often have a high end feel but for less than the price tag that comes with a Deluxe resort.

Resort Details
Port Orleans Riverside is one resort. Port Orleans French Market is another.
They’re both themed beautifully with South Louisiana details native to the area.
I prefer Riverside. It’s quieter and so so pretty.

Room Details
Rooms are pretty specious in both Riverside and French Market.
Many sleep 5 in a standard room.

Pools
The theming at the pools is impressive, too! Again, I prefer Riverside’s over French Market, but they’re both fun. Riverside feels more laid back and French Market is livelier.

Transportation
These resorts includes Disney busses to parks and Disney Springs.
You can also take the ferry from Port Orleans Riverside to and from Disney Springs. I love this! The ride is gorgeous too.
