I love Pop Century!
For guests seeking an affordable resort, I can’t recommend this one enough.
Let’s talk about why.
Basic Scoop
Disney properties include 3 tiers:
- Deluxe
- Moderate
- Value
Pop Century Resort is a “Value”, which is the least expensive tier.
Resort Details
Pop Century Resort has a fun vibe to it, as it celebrates pop culture over the decades.
It is comprised of Classic Hall (lobby, dining, shopping, etc), sections 1950’s through 1990’s, and several pools.
I recommend requesting the 1960’s section, as it’s most centrally located. From the 60’s, you can walk out of your room and walk quickly to Classic Hall….or go in the other direction to find Disney’s Skyliner.
If the 60’s section isn’t available, I like the 70’s and 50’s, too.
Room Details
This resort was the first “Value” to get a recent refurbishment (2018). The rooms are small at Pop Century, but they make great use of the space.
Most standard rooms include a queen bed plus a murphy bed, which is also a full queen size with a full mattress, just like the other queen.
I recommend Pop Century for guests looking to save money, but still want the luxury of a good location. Pop has this, as it sits closely to the Skyliner station.
Who Should Book this Hotel, Why and How
If you have a group of adults visiting, book one room for every 2 adults. Although the room technically sleeps 4, it’s a super tight squeeze with 4 adults.
If you need multiple rooms, request they connect to each other.
Need more space, but want to stay in budget? Consider a suite at Art of Animation, the resort adjacent to Pop Century.
Pools
There is one main pool, located between the 60’s and 70’s sections. It’s called the Hippy Dippy Pool and includes the most activity you’ll find at this resort. Cast Members play games with kids. There’s a fun energy to this area.
In addition to the main pool, find the Bowling Pool and Computer Pool on site, too.
Transportation
Another reason I really like this resort is that it has its own bus! Other ‘Value’ resorts share one bus system. Pop has its own, so your wait is often lower.
Here are bus to park times from Pop Century…
Pop to Disney Hollywood Studios: 6:45am – 6:53am
Pop to Epcot: 7:00pm – 7:20pm
Pop to Magic Kingdom – 1:02pm – 1:17pm
Pop to Animal Kingdom – 3:47pm – 4:02pm
These times were noted during my July 2019 visit.
Disney Skyliner
The Disney Skyliner is my favorite way to travel at Walt Disney World.
This post tells you everything you need to know about it.

Why Choose Pop Century Over All Star Resorts
Choose Pop Century over All Star Sports, Movies and Music.
Although All Star Resorts are now updated with similar rooms to Pop Century, Pop is worth the added cost for two important reasons:
- It has its own bus system, where as all three All Star Resorts share the same bus line.
- Its close proximity to the Disney Skyliner. All Star Resorts aren’t connected to the Skyliner.
