It’s a special day!
And Disney recognizes it by handing out carnations at the entrance of both Disneyland and California Adventure.
A few details…..
- Flowers are only available inside the parks. You won’t find them at the resorts or in Downtown Disney.
- They’re intended for moms – one per mom – but, as you can imagine, that rule is stretched. People will always be people.
- The flower tables are refilled throughout the day, but supplies are limited and there’s no guarantee they’ll last, of course.

What to Expect at the Parks
Crowds are usually low at opening, but by 9:30am, the lines to get in the park are longer than normal. Consider that many families will allow mom to sleep in or have breakfast together at home and then head to Disneyland. That brings everyone in at a heavier rate than normal by 10:00am.
Arrive early and treat yourself to something in the park to eat! Or pack a good breakfast to bring in. But, get there at opening to avoid the masses.
Here are all of your options for breakfast at Disneyland.

Dining Recommendations for Mom
Consider the following:
- For a fancy dinner, I recommend Napa Rose at the Grand Californian Hotel or Paseo in Downtown Disney.
- For a fun atmosphere, dine on the patio at Centrico in the heart of Downtown Disney.
- If you’re looking for a family focused restaurant with less alcohol than other options, choose Black Tap in Downtown Disney.
- Character meals are always a good time. My favorite is Minnie’s at Plaza Inn, but it’s in Disneyland so a park ticket is required. Check out this post for all your options.

Special Dining for Mother’s Day
Disney hosts a couple of options celebrating mom including….
- Plaza Inn Brunch (inside Disneyland)
- Storytellers Cafe Brunch (at the Grand Californian Hotel, so no park ticket required)
These are only offered for Mother’s Day weekend and reservations are highly recommended.
