Updated March 29, 2026
Just as before, I’m sharing park strategies for both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. But this time – without Lightning Lanes or any added cost to your trip.
My goal in creating these strategies is to help you get the most of our visit to the Disneyland Resort. A little direction can go a long way.
These strategies allow you to move through the parks in the most efficient manner without Lighting Lanes at all. You’ll use standby lines only.
And not spend more than your park ticket!

Basic Scoop
If you’re planning a Disneyland trip, start with this post. It covers everything you need to know.
Find my crowd calendar here, which shows you which days to avoid. And check out discounts for tickets and hotels both on and off site with my preferred travel partner here.
Ok, let’s get started on how to move through the park.

For All Strategies – Do These Things
- Arrive at the gate outside the park you’re visiting that day an hour prior to official park opening time.
- As soon as you’re allowed in the park, line up at the rope of the land you want to visit if it’s there. If “rope drop” isn’t happening, proceed on to the first attraction I list for your park.
- Focus on attractions at the beginning of your day.
- Plan on lunch around noon or 1:00pm.
- After lunch, resume attractions and/or enjoy park entertainment.
- Something on my list not of interest? Closed? Move on to the next step. My strategies are designed to move you through the park in the most efficient way possible, with consideration for each attraction’s popularity, where it’s located in the park, etc etc.
- Keep in mind that you may jump in line for most attractions just before official park closing. So, if you arrive at an attraction that includes a super long wait, consider leaving it for the end of your day.
- Rider Switch is in use.
- Single Rider lines are in use now, too.
So, to recap:
- Arrive early and focus on attractions.
- Break for lunch and reassess your plan for the day. (use this time to avoid the heaviest crowds and chaos of the day)
- Resume attractions and then enjoy characters and entertainment. Repeat favorite attractions, too!

Disneyland Park
I do not recommend going to Rise of the Resistance first unless you are a Disneyland pro. Without knowing exactly what you’re doing, you’ll likely end up with a 90+ minute wait if you go at rope drop. Use those 90 minutes to instead ride 5 or so big attractions. Then, wait the 90 minutes later in the day.
The best time to ride it is around 6pm. The wait time is usually just under an hour at that point. (Don’t wait until the end of the day and try to jump in line before the park closes to ride Rise of the Resistance. It closes early most days.)
For the Disneyland strategy, line up at the Tomorrowland rope drop and proceed with this order of attractions:
- Space Mountain
- Matterhorn
- Peter Pan (skip if the wait time is over 30 minutes; return later)
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
- Indiana Jones Adventure
- Jungle Cruise
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Haunted Mansion
- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
- Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
(((Lunch Break)))
- Millennium Falcon
- Rise of the Resistance
Note: If Millennium Falcon has a 30+ minute wait….or if Rise has an hour or longer wait….I recommend you leave Galaxy’s Edge and return later in the day when lines should be shorter. 6-7pm is a good time for Rise of the Resistance.
- “it’s a small world”
- Gadget’s Go Coaster
- Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin
- Alice in Wonderland
- Mad Tea Party (teacups)
- Storybook Land Canal Boats
- Casey Junior Circus Train
- Dumbo
- King Arthur’s Carrousel
- Snow White’s Enchanted Wish
- Pinocchio’s Daring Journey
- Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride
- Autopia
- Finding Nemo’s Submarines
- Star Tours
- Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters
- Astro Orbitor
- Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway (around 6-7pm)
Notes:
- Note: Check around 6:00pm for the shortest wait times for both Rise of the Resistance.
- If you would like to go directly to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, line up at the Frontierland rope drop, enter the new land at the Bayou Country entrance and then get in the standby line for Rise of the Resistance immediately. (Ask a Cast Member if the Bayou Country entrance is open when you line up for rope drop. If it’s not open, do your best with the other options.) If you use the Bayou Country entrance, veer to the right and walk along the path near the Rivers of America, avoiding the rush of people to Pirates and Haunted Mansion. Ride it and then Millennium Falcon. Then, head toward Tomorrowland to start with the list I have above. Return later to explore the land. Focus on attractions when the park is newly open. (I only recommend guests familiar with Disneyland go to Galaxy’s Edge at opening. It’s not easy to get there and find the queues, etc. First timers shouldn’t go there at opening.)
- Although some notable attractions are listed in the second half of the day, the first grouping includes those with longer lines. If you follow my schedule, you’ll finish the first group in Bayou Country, which includes an entrance to Galaxy’s Edge. Consider grabbing lunch at Docking Bay 7 (inside Galaxy’s Edge), which is a quick service dining option with awesome theming and plenty of indoor seating in case it’s hot. Outdoor seating is available, too. Hungry Bear in Bayou Country and is a good option for lunch, too, if Docking Bay 7 isn’t your style.
- Finish up with lots of Fantasyland and a few others.
- Disneyland has so many attractions, guys. Don’t feel obligated to do everything. Focus on your favorites, but in the order I recommend. You’ll be in great shape!

Disney California Adventure
Proceed through the park with this order of attractions:
- Guardians of the Galaxy
- Soarin’ Around the World
- Incredicoaster
- Toy Story Midway Mania
- Jessie’s Critter Carousel
- Pixar Pal-A-Round
- Emotional Whirlwind
- Silly Symphony Swings
- Goofy’s Sky School
- Jumpin’ Jellyfish
- Golden Zephyr
- Ariel’s Undersea Adventure
- Grizzly River Rapids
(((Lunch Break)))
- Monster’s Inc
- Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters
- Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree
- WEB SLINGERS
- Radiator Springs Racers – plan to ride this around 6:00pm, when the wait time should be around 60 minutes

One Day in the Parks
If you only have one day to enjoy both parks, start at Disneyland. Use my strategy and get the first half of it complete. That includes MANY iconic attractions. Then, around 1:00pm, hop to DCA.
While at DCA, use the Disneyland app to check wait times for the 6 most popular attractions in the park including:
- Radiator Springs Racers
- Soarin’ Around the World
- Incredicoaster
- Toy Story Midway Mania
- Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!
- WEB SLINGERS
Once you get through those 5 attractions, hop back to Disneyland and complete that strategy. Remember that the last hour of the day includes short wait times, too.

Single Rider Lines
Single Rider Lines are the best!
This link shares all about them.
I don’t include Single Rider lines in my strategies, as they’re designed for families and Single Rider lines don’t always work for everyone. But, they’re great to keep in mind for big attractions.

Strategy Tests
While I test strategies from home using the app, I also work through them in the parks. Here are a few examples from when I was noting them a few years ago.
Disney California Adventure
Disneyland
- March 24, 2026 – great morning!
- November 22, 2024 – 8 iconic rides in 4 hours!
- July 1, 2021 – find how my strategy worked at this link.
- September 9, 2021 – tested successfully, but didn’t post results.
- November 1, 2021 – tested and made changes; results here

This post will be updated as needed.

Sorry about that, incomplete submission! This is without genie+
Hi Jolyn!
I just added Nemo back. Not sure where he went! Thank you for letting me know.
The rides are in logistical order for the most part to cut down on walking, but I do skip over a few in each land occasionally to ensure you hit the rides that have super long lines early on with little to no wait.
Hope this helps! Happy to answer any of your questions.
Hi Casey, thank you for sharing your strategies. I am not seeing when to ride Finding Nemo submarine? Also, my kids (7,9,11) complain about a lot of walking, how do you manage with this itinerary where there’s lots of cross crossing? We have a 3day pass.
I love your posts! We have a 5 day pass and was planning on
day 1 Sunday 4th december – DCA (have WOC dessert reservations
day 2 – DL
day 3 – DCA
day 4 – DL
day 5 – both parks to finish what needs to be done 😉
We have hopper passes, would you recommend hopping a bit more than that?
Hi Lisa.
Your trip sounds like fun!
I recommend keeping your schedule as is and then hop as needed once you get all your “work” done for the day. So, start with one of my strategies and cross a lot off your list before you decide to hop. Have so much fun!
Thank you so much! Half considering cancelled our WOC reservations. With the exchange rate being so so bad (we are from Australia) it’s costing us a bomb and I’m worried our 5 and 7 year old wont sit there that long. Maybe it’s for the next trip when they are a little older.
Makes sense to me. Let me know if I can help with anything else.
hi Casey. Just wondering without Genie + and starting the day doing Radiator Springs Racers, do you know how long the wait is normally first up? We will do rope drop
Should be about 20-25 minutes if you’re at the park an hour early and aggressive (no running!) at rope drop. Have fun!
Hi! At DCA what is your opinion about starting the day on the CARS/AVENGERS side of the park instead of the Pixar side?
Hi Elaine.
I’ve found WEB SLINGERS to be unpredictable at opening. So, I don’t recommend going there first.
Hi Casey! My boyfriend and I are going for 3 days total. We have 3 days total with 2 days in Disneyland. Should I split this strategy in 2 for the 2 days? Or is there a different way to approach? I should check but does this include all the attractions? Thanks!
Hi there!
It includes everything. I would split your day in two for two days. Enjoy!
Hi Casey!
We’re taking our almost 3 and 5 year old daughters to Disneyland in 2 weeks! It’s a birthday trip for our 3 year old. My 5 year old is tall enough to ride almost all of the rides now but I’d hate to have the 3 year old birthday girl sit around the first couple of hours while we rider switch some big rides because the majority of the rides in your Disneyland AM schedule have a height requirement. Do you have park schedule recommendations to accommodate all family members? Meaning, would your schedule look different or would you take a different course if we wanted to start our day with some rides we all could do together?
Hi, Natalie.
For families with guests of all ages, I recommend following my Big Kids plan. You’ll still enjoy rides like Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, but you’ll move through the ‘big rides’ quickly allowing you to do more overall.
Consider these options for little ones in each land when they can’t or don’t want to ride:
Tomorrowland: Astro Orbitor, Buzz Lightyear (short wait in the morning; do this a couple of times if needed)
Adventureland: Tiki Room, Jungle Cruise, Tarzan’s Treehouse
Frontierland: shooting range (bring quarters), Mark Twain Riverboat
Critter Country: The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Or……..you could use my Little Kids plan, but you’ll miss out on some of the bigger rides with low wait times. Here’s the Little Kids plan:
https://disneylanddaily.com/how-to-start-your-day-at-disneyland/#The_Disneyland_Strategy_for_Little_Kids_with_Genie
Y’all have fun!
Any idea when you’ll be able to update your strategies with genie+? We’ll be in the parks Dec. 27-31 and I’m looking for direction!
Thanks for your patience, Katie. I’ve been sick since returning from Orlando, so I haven’t completed everything. Aiming to update this post early this coming week. I’ll have info for you prior to your trip. Soon!
If our family isn’t doing Space Mountain/Matterhorn should we go straight to Peter Pan? I know elsewhere you say not to do Peter Pan first…or skip it and head to Big Thunder and then put Peter Pan later in the day?
Hi Carolyn.
If you know the parks well and arrive a full hour early, start with Peter Pan and make your way down the list after it. You’ll be in great shape!
Thanks so for sharing your park strategies! You mentioned you tested and made changes based on your visit yesterday, 11/1. Would you be able to share any results previews as we’ll be visiting on 11/4? Thank you in advance!
KT, I’m sorry I didn’t catch you in time. Just published the results. Crazy week with kids here. Hope you had a great visit!
Hi Casey – thanks for all of this great info. Do you have a suggestion on where to park to be at rope drop an hour before park opening? The structures don’t open that early – so hoping you have an option for me! Thanks!
I always arrive 15-20 minutes prior to when the parking structures open. They often let you in early or at least allow you to line up. You’ll be through security first and then on your way. That’s your best bet if you’re driving in. Have a great time!
Hi! Thank you for all the info you share. Many of your posts helped when we traveled with our then 2.5 yr old. We are headed back this fall. I have read that it can be hard to get mobil ordering/quick service during the main meal times, like lunch between 12 and 1pm and the suggestion has been to try and eat at off times. I see your atrategy calls for a lunch break at that 12 to 1 time frame. Have you noticed any issues with getting lunch or lunch crowds that would through off the rest of the “schedule” for rides? Thank you!!
Good question.
The mobile ordering hysteria has calmed a bit. But, it is good to eat before or after the rush if you can.
Otherwise, start looking for what you want to order a couple hours prior to when you want to dine.
Have fun!
Thank you so much for all the information. Do you have any recommendations, suggestions or information about going to the park with a DAS? We are hoping to do the process virtually. We are going in the middle of December. Thank you again!
I recommend using my strategies in addition to DAS. You’ll make better time through the lines early in the morning, so don’t be late! If you run into a wait time that’s too long, use DAS for that queue. Otherwise, use my plans. Have fun!
This is such a helpful blog! We are planning our first visit since the re-open and can’t find anything about being able to return to the first park later in the evening with the park hopper option. If we start in DCA first and to DL after 1, are we able to return to DCA later that evening? Thanks!
Hi Alex.
You can return again and again. As long as capacity allows, you can hop hop hop after 1:00pm. To and from. Enjoy!
Hi Casey!
We love your plans and use them every time we go to Disneyland (and our first time to Disney world when we went in March).
We are going to Disneyland for one day next week, and only to The Disneyland park. We are bringing my parents who can’t really move fast. It’s quite possible we will get to the park closer to 9 am, rather than the 7 am (one hour prior to opening) suggested. Would you still suggest we follow your strategy, even if we aren’t there at opening?
Hi Teresa.
You can try at 9:00am. They’re much more effective, of course, when you arrive early. But, you can make it work. Enjoy!
Thanks for all the great info you provide! Where would you fit in Astro Orbitor, Pinocchio’s Daring Adventure, and Roger Rabbit?
Hi Heather.
Thank you for catching this! Not sure where those guys went. I had Pinocchio listed, but not the other two.
Anywho, it’s been corrected. Have fun!
Hi Casey! This will be our first trip to DL. We are going for 4 days, the week of Thanksgiving. How do I know which parks to book? If looking at the tracker, should I just go with the least crowded? Or is that going with the crowd? Thanks for all of the information! I have a lot to learn!!!
The week of Thanksgiving is crowded, regardless of what you’re seeing now.
I would start at Disneyland for three of your days, leaving one start for DCA. You can hop each day at 1:00pm.
Thank you for all your info!! We used your tips in 2019 with great success. So excited to go back soon! I was surprised to see the suggestion to do haunted mansion and then space mountain. Isn’t this a pretty far zig zag? What am I missing? Thanks!!
I don’t like to cross the park like this, but Haunted Mansion Holiday’s wait is long during this season. I tested this last week and it worked nicely.
If we have multiday park hopper tickets would you recommend doing half of this one day and half another day?
You got it!
Hey Casey!
How close to the Park do you have to be at 7am to try for a RotR boarding pass? Also assuming your ticket doesn’t have to be scanned into the park, just have a park reservation that day? We’ll be driving in from San Diego that morning and not sure we can make it there by 7am with kids in tow 🙂
Hi Cora.
Not close at all. I have done it from Oceanside, which is an hour away. Ticket does not have to be scanned into the park for the 7:00am virtual queue. Good luck!
We are going to the boo bash on Sunday in September- do you think we will be able to do the web slingers and avengers campus during those three/4 hours of early entrance before the actual party or should we plan an additional day to do dca?
Hi Casey! Thank you so much for this great info! Love being prepared. 🙂
If we do manage to get in to ROTR, do they provide a window of time in which we have to be at the ride? I’m asking because we can definitely be up before 7 am to do the virtual queue, but with a toddler it might be difficult to get to the park early if we get into a boarding group that’s an early window.
Thank you!
Hi, Cherry.
Good question. You’ll have one hour to enter the boarding group once you’re called. Hope that works for y’all.
Have the best time!
Hi Casey, thanks so much for all this info. If I have tickets for future dates for others in my app already, will they be an issue when I’m trying to get in the queue? Or will it only select the people who have tickets for the day we are there trying for the pass?
Thank you!!
Hey, Cassie.
Technically, the app should auto-include only those guests with that day’s ticket and reservation. However, I wouldn’t risk it. I would remove any tickets you don’t need for that day. Boarding Groups are gone in literally a second – or less – right now. If the app auto-includes those superlative guests/tickets, you will not have time to uncheck them. Play it safe, girl!
Good luck.
Hi Again!!! 🙂
Maybe this was ask before… we are a party of four… Mom, Dad, Boy 11 and little girl is 5…
Even if we would try to do everything together, it may be some times we may split.
In the case we have fast passes for an attraction, could we redeem them separately? Or should all be there at the same time?? Planning to use fast pass max 🙂
I don’t believe Fast Passes or Max are an option right now .
They are not. You’re right.
IDK if you’ve already gone, but currently there are NO fast passes or max passes being used. When they did have them, you could use them seperately (if your group was split up) as long as you all returned within the scheduled ‘Return Window”. However, they are not being used currently, and aren’t expected to return any time soon.
This is the most stressed I’ve ever been going to an amusement park 🙁 The entire day is easy enough, but hoping not to miss out on ROTR and WebSlingers makes me so panicky, and we’re not even there yet…. 🙁 Especially the ‘if you miss it, you don’t get another chance’ part. We’re trying for ROTR at 7am, then again at noon if we don’t get 7am, but then we’d miss out on WebSlingers… OY VAY! So hard Disney!
Thank you SO much for all this information…………just needed to vent……….
I completely understand! Focus on ROTR. It’s far superior to WEB SLINGERS. Have a great time!
You – are appreciated 🙂
Hi Casey, Thanks for all the great info! I am going with a big group, 13 to 15 people in September. Do you know, if we link all the tickets is there a max number of people for Rise of Resistance/Webslinger virtual queues? I was there about two weeks ago and had no problem getting into both virtual queues, but that was a small group. Do you know if there are any limits on the number of people you can make a restaurant dining reservation? Thanks!
Hi Mary.
Dining is usually a max of 12, but that might have changed with Covid.
I’ve never heard of a max number of guests for the virtual queues. You should be ok. Have a great time!
Hi Casey
I plan to visit in December but I am coming from a different country. Since Disneyland app is super important… I am worried about free WIFI in the park.
Should I really consider to pay extra $$ on some data plan from my original company?
Love this site!!! Everything is so different since the last time I went to Disneyland, I am so happy to have this great tips.
Hi Jules. I would consider buying a data plan. I think it will be worth the cost.
Let me know how else I can help you!
Hi! For the boarding groups at 7am, do you refresh exactly at 7am or 1 second before 7am? Thank you so much! 🙂
When I see the time change to 6:59am, I glance at my watch to see where the second hand is. I go through the steps and then hang out on that last page where “JOIN” will appear. About 10 seconds before 7:00am, I refresh again and again, until I see “JOIN”.
Let me know if I made that more confusing. 🙂
hi casey, have you tried out the disneyland strategy? how did it go?
I’ve done it virtually with the wait times on the app several days and it works great!
Hoping to get to Disneyland this week to test it in the park. Hard to do without an annual pass. So sorry!
Casey, thank you so much for all your info. I have a few questions about food…
1- what time does mobile ordering open on the app?
2- Are walk up orders still avail?
3- are carts open? Are those lines long?
Im a little panicked about anticipating where, when, and what all of us want to eat?
Hi Sarah.
I’ve heard of people ordering as early as 6:30am. I recommend checking in the morning while you stand in line at security. Or, really, just as early as possible.
Carts are open.
Standby (walk up) lines are open at most locations, but I recommend mobile ordering for most of what you want that day. Those lines can get quite long.
Try not to stress. You’re way ahead of most guests by doing your research. Hope you have a great visit!
Hi Casey, wondering what happens if you have a boarding time that coincides with a dining reservation?
Cast Members will work with you at either location. You’ll still get to do both. Don’t worry!
Hi! I noticed you said you entered on the harbor side. Are you still parking in Mickey and Friends and walking around or parking somewhere else?
Entering on the Harbor side is mostly for guests staying in those hotels. I heard the west side was better today, June 15, 2021. Hope it continues!
Great info Casey!!
Question for you….Can both adults in a party have: 1. The tickets loaded in the Disney app on both phones? 2. Can both phone try at the same time for the virtual queues??
Thanks so much!!!
Hi, Lara.
1. Yes
2. Yes
Good luck!
Hi! My family and I will be going on Thursday and what’s stumping me most is where to park! We want to take your advice of being at the park gates an hour before opening (so 8am) but are unsure of where to park that early if the parking structure doesn’t open until 8:30am?
Hi Casey!
I heard it was best to have all the tickets linked to one app in order for everyone in the party to get into a queue at the same time? Is that right? And do you know if we can transfer all the tickets back to individual apps after trying the virtual queues?
Yes. Link everyone to the same app.
You can have your tickets loaded onto more than one app. No problem.
Just curious about how you are able to go to Disney Parks multiple times a year? I find the cost of a family to enter to be a big expense. Is there a place to buy passes that offers discounts? I would love to go more frequently, but as we live in Colorado, costs really add up.
Hi, Andrea.
My income from this site helps support my travels. I do have an annual pass at Walt Disney World. And I will again once Disneyland offers them.
I lived in Colorado for 3 years. That’s costly in itself and then adding travel expenses! I understand.
I recommend booking both tickets and hotel rooms – on or off Disney property – with the agency I partner with, Get Away Today. They have the best prices and service. Their number is 855.GET.AWAY.
Let me know if I can help with anything else!
Hi Casey
Not a CA resident and they said must be CA residents only until June 15th. Do you know anything about it being opened up to everyone after that date. When I purchased tickets for July, it made me attest to being a resident of reservations were before June 15th. I think we should be ok, but I just wanted to check if you knew anything otherwise.
Everyone is welcome June 15, 2021 and moving forward. You’re just fine, Elle!
Let me know how else I can help.
Hi Casey, thanks for all the awesome tips. If you need a reservation to be able to join a virtual queue for RotR, how does your Disneyland app know you have a reservation for that day? I know we can link our tickets , but how do we link the reservation? I want to make sure we have everything in order before attempting to join a boarding group on day 1. Thanks!
Hi, Jennifer.
Your reservation is linked to your ticket, but you can’t see it on the app. You should be all set. Have a great time!
Are they checking ID’s at the game?
Hi, Jan.
They are checking for IDs. Have a great day!
Hi Casey, have you heard what is the new increased capacity limit? I heard this changed on 5/18. Going tomorrow and crossing my fingers we get in the ROTR queue. Thanks
Hi, Carlo.
There are many rumors going around, but from what I understand, Disney very rarely announces actual numbers. You’ll be just fine since you’re ready for your day. Follow my tips and good luck!
Is the Frozen show open? And how do I upgrade my DCA pass to a park hopper?
The Frozen show is not playing right now.
You may upgrade your ticket at the ticket booths in the esplanade.
Enjoy!
How long have your waits to get through temp check, security, and gates been? And days/times entered? Thank you so much!
On Thursday of last week, I arrived to the Harbor side entrance at 8:20am. I was through security/temp check by 8:45am. I recommend arriving at 8:00am.
You are an angel, thank you!!
Thank you for this great tips!
Just curious, how difficult has it been for folks to get a boarding pass for the Rise of the Resistance virtual queue, provided they sign up right at the allotted times? We are going next month and my husband will lose his mind if we can’t get on that ride!
Hi, Lex.
I haven’t had a reader come back and tell me that they didn’t get one. But, it is competitive. Definitely be ready!
If I can help with anything else, please let me know.
I am going on June 10th into California Adventure first to go to the new Marvel Land. I was just wondering what would happen if I get a boarding pass for Rise of the Resistance before 1pm? Also are we aloud to enter, exit, then enter back into either park with a park hopper?
Hi, Aidan.
You won’t be able to try for a Boarding Pass from California Adventure for Rise of the Resistance until noon. Then, you hop by 1:00pm. There shouldn’t be any issue with timing. Your return group wouldn’t be called that quickly.
You may hop, hop, hop….as long as capacity allows. I haven’t seen this as an issue yet, but if it becomes one, I’ll update this post with more tips.
Have fun!
I can’t find a way to delete the passes and family tickets in my Disneyland app. How do I do this?
Good question.
If your app doesn’t show the option to cancel, don’t worry about it. You should be OK. Legacy Passes and tickets that are not in use *should* be omitted from the ‘click all’ function.
Enjoy!
Is there a map to take advantage of shade throughout the day? Lol Not sure this exists but worried about heat the end of June. Tia!
Hi, Shauna.
Lots of suggestions for hot days here:
https://disneylanddaily.com/what-to-do-when-its-hot-at-disneyland/
Casey,
I have a quick question about the Rise virtual queue….
My husband and I are heading to Disneyland tomorrow (tickets/reservations ??)
We are all ready to go with the app.
However, our legacy passholders passes are still in there (as well as our kids legacy passes—they aren’t going with us)
Will that slow us down on the steps to obtain boarding passes?
I would remove anything extra from the app if you can. Take screen captures of it all in case you have trouble reloading it after.
Not a dumb question at all! I’m wondering the same 🙂
I followed Casey’s RoftheR strategy and got a boarding group right at 12:00!!!
Hi Casey! Question about Savi’s workshop. There are 4 us with reservations, do we all need to purchase a lightsaber or can it be my just my son? First time going to Galaxy’s Edge so not familiar with this. Thanks!
Two guests may enter the ceremony to watch one guest build the light saber. It’s so cool! Hope you love it.
Are two guests total allowed or three: 2 watching & 1 building? I’m asking because my husband wants to build one, and I’d like to watch it along with my son.
Hi, Jenn. I see now that only two people total are allowed in. The builder and one guest.
Sorry for the confusion!
I noticed these tips are “without fastpasses” is that because they are not available right now due to COVID restrictions? Or are you sharing that it can be done without it and still done well?
I am going with my almost 2 yr old and 4 yr old on Thursday so we are mainly doing the “preschooler” rides except we are hoping to ride Rise of the Resistance in the afternoon (park hopper starting in DCA).
Do you have specific tips for toddler/preschoolers? Tia
Hi, Julia.
FASTPASSES are not in use due to Covid restrictions.
I’m still trying to get to a preschooler plan. If I don’t finish it prior to your visit, use my list here and just skip won’t work for you.
Hope you have fun!
Hi Casey, how do I confirm that I have the latest version of the Disneyland app? Sorry, probably a dumb question!
Go to the App Store and search for the Disneyland app. When it comes up, if you don’t have the latest version, it will have a big “update” version.
*update button
Can’t wait to see how it goes opening week! We’re going Mothers Day weekend to both parks (DL on Sat/DCA on Sun) 🙂
Looking forward to your park strategies! We are going opening weekend and want to make the most of it 🙂
I’ll have lists ready for you!
with this plan without genie +, where should I fit in mickey and Minnie’s runaway railway. I didn’t see it there. I am taking my fam January 16 to dis land and 17 to dca. two different crowd calendars said those would be pretty good days. your site is great, I am hoping with a lighter crowd day we can hit everything with your plan without genie, or would you still recommend getting it?
Hi Kevin.
Sorry about the confusion. This attraction is actually explained in the Notes section.
“Note: Check around 6:00pm for the shortest wait times for both Rise of the Resistance and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. With Toontown reopened, the standby lines for both of these attractions have been 45-60 minutes around 6:00pm.”
I would follow that suggestion. Lots of people will be dining, leaving certain attractions with reasonable wait times.
I do think Genie+ is very helpful with a good strategy but the plans I’ve created without Genie+ are effective too.
Feel free to email me at casey@disneylanddaily.com with more questions if I can help. Hope y’all have fun!
