Disney Cruises

Updated April 22, 2026

The coveted Disney Cruise.

What’s it all about?

Compared to other cruise lines, Disney looks kind of pricey, but they sell out ships again and again.

Let’s take a look at why.

Who You Should Book Your Cruise With

I can help you with many parts of planning, but I recommend booking your trip with an experienced agent who can handle some of these things for you and advise on all of them. Commission is built into every Disney package purchased, regardless of who you book with. So, you do not pay a penny more than if you book with Disney directly.

I recommend booking with Get Away Today. They are, hands down, the best in the Disney industry. Start here.

Basic Scoop

Disney Cruise Line was incorporated in 1996 and hasn’t slowed down since. Ships keep getting bigger and better and itineraries continue to spread out across the globe.

I’ve been on two Disney Cruises and have been thrilled with all they included. Think of all the magic from Disney Parks and Resorts brought onto a mega-ship, which takes you from one fun stop to the next.

Disney service is at the top of its game on the Cruise Line. It’s impressive, y’all.

They win awards year after year. #1 for families, Best Cruise Line, Best Caribbean Cruise Line, etc, etc.

Disney Cruise Ships

Cruise ships include…..

  • Disney Magic – 1998
  • Disney Wonder – 1999
  • Disney Dream – 2011
  • Disney Fantasy – 2012
  • Disney Wish – 2022
  • Disney Treasure – 2024
  • Disney Destiny – 2025
  • Disney Adventure – 2025

What Makes Disney Cruises Worth the Cost?

A few major features – that most cruise lines don’t have – stand out in my mind:

  • Service – Cast Members are the heart of our parks and that commitment continues on the ships. I’m consistently impressed with their helpfulness.
  • Rotational Dining – It seems like a small thing, but this feature on Disney Cruises really amounts to a lot. Rotational dining means that your cast member servers move to each dining room as your plan details. So they follow you. And they know your preferences and needs immediately. What a blessed this is for guests with food allergies.
  • Fireworks at Sea – Disney does everything better and being the only ship to set off fireworks at sea is a prime example. Fish friendly ashes fall to the sea during the show. Mickey flies through the air. It’s a sight to see!
  • Disney Culture – There’s something really special about people who come to the parks again and again and that spirit can be found on the ships, too.

My Cruises

2016 – Halloween on the High Seas, Disney Dream, 3 nights including Castaway Cay in the Bahamas

2023 – 4 nights to Cabo on the Disney Wonder

My Favorite Parts and What You Should Not Miss

  • The Sailing Away Party! – This is legit my favorite moment of the cruise. This is the party that happens when you leave port.
  • Rotational Dining – It’s so nice to have the same servers at each meal. They become friends!
  • Fireworks at Sea – Nobody does it like Disney.

Pixie Dust & Fish Extenders

A fun part of the Disney Cruise Line culture is sharing pixie dust with other guests on board.

I share all about how to join the fun in this post.

On my second Disney Cruise, my daughter became very ill and we were not prepared.
