I’m always looking for an easy but impressive way to share treats with others and this is my new favorite!
And you just need a few things to pull it all together.
Let’s get started.

Treat Bags
For Christmas 2025, I made candied cranberries for just about every person I know.
In search of the best way to share them, I found this simple bag presentation that I’ll be using for other purposes including:
- Valentine’s Day
- Easter
- Halloween
They would also be great as party favors. But, alas, my kids are all adults now. I wish I had found these when they were little.

Supplies
You’ll need:
- Treat bags – I ordered and returned a few sizes until I settled on this one (6.3”x9.5”). I originally thought I wanted something smaller, but the bags aren’t deep, so the larger size accommodates the amount I wanted to give. These are $12.99 for 50 bags.
- Hole punch
- Ribbon (consider all varieties including Ric Rac, burlap, sheer and more)
- Gift tags
Execution Tips
This is an easy project, but some tips might help:
- Fill your bags first. Then place the hole punch on the exterior side of the pouch so the actual bag stays sealed.
- Don’t fill your bags too full. A little goes a long way with this presentation. And you don’t want to smush your contents.
- Buy the bigger bags. I started with 4”x6” bags and could barely fit any cranberries. I eventually settled on the 6.3”x9.5” size.
- You can find bags with a solid back if you don’t want the clear side on both sides. They make a cute paper craft version, too.

Candied Cranberries
As shared in my post about our holiday traditions:
Add a bag of cranberries to a bowl of orange juice and Sprite until just coated and refrigerate overnight. Drain, toss the cranberries with 2-3 cups of powdered sugar, and then spread everything out on a baking sheet.
Bake at 220° for only about 5 minutes to form a candy shell. Back in the fridge for a few hours and then they’re done!
I keep these refrigerated.
