Renting Bikes at Walt Disney World

Updated February 7, 2023

Riding bikes at Disney Resorts is one of my favorite things to do, but I rarely hear people talk about it or see it discussed online.

I encourage you to give it a try on any day you’re not committed to a theme park visit.

You do not need a reservation. Simply ask the front desk if your resort rents bikes. They’ll point you in the right direction.

You do not need to be a guest at the resort to rent.

Give it a try!

And, be sure to let me know if you do.

Basic Scoop

This is a super easy activity available at participating WDW Resort Hotels.

It’s inexpensive and doesn’t require a reservation.

And, I love everything about that!

Here’s the scoop from Disney.

Available to Rent

Rentals are available on a first-come, first serve basis.

You can find the following at most participating resorts:

  • Child Bikes (some with training wheels)
  • Adult Bikes
  • Surreys (2, 4 or 6 person)

Cost

Most bikes are around $9-20/hour to rent.

Pricing can vary per resort.

Participating Resorts

Here’s where you can find rentals:

  • Caribbean Beach
  • Old Key West
  • Wilderness Lodge
  • Port Orleans – Riverside
  • Port Orleans – French Quarter
  • Saratoga Springs
  • The Cabins at Fort Wilderness
  • The Campsites at Fort Wilderness
  • BoardWalk Inn (Surreys only)

Where to Ride

The resorts that rent bikes have plenty of space to ride. If you’re unsure of how to get started, find the Running Trail sign near the lobby of your resort and follow the path it suggests.

Previous Bike Rides

I’ve rented bikes at Caribbean Beach, Old Key West, and Port Orleans Riverside.

All three locations had beautiful rides. Port Orleans Riverside is my favorite option so far.

Notes

  • Helmets and child seats are complimentary with all bike rentals.
  • Florida law requires bicyclists under 16 years of age to wear helmets.
  • Guests must remain within the specific resort area where the bike has been rented.
  • Some bikes have baskets to hold your gear. Otherwise, you’ll need to store it in your room. If you do stores your belongings, bring your wallet or cash. You might get hungry or thirsty and want to stop for a snack.
  • Most resorts include rental hours of 10am-5pm, so keep that in mind when planning.
  • This post shows photos from my first bike ride and includes more info on rentals.
